Kyle stumbled into OEDS in November 2012 as a policy analyst. In February 2013, Kyle led the expansion of the team acting as the Chief Research Officer adding ten hand-picked policy analysts to the program increasing the research capabilities of OEDS as well as allowing fellow university students to apply their knowledge in the real world and gain actual experience in their field of study. Katharine Wyslocky

Board Member
As of April 2016, Katie graduated from Public Affairs and Policy Management, minoring in Economics, at Carleton University. Katie has also just completed a 6 month international exchange at the University of Nottingham in England. She’s been grateful for the change in scenery and pace, and gained a greater appreciation for various European cultures, created wonderful memories, and a slight temporary British accent. Katie has been a part of the Ontario Economic Development Society since May 2013 and has worked on several research projects covering topics such as crowdfunding, the Light Rail Project in Ottawa, and the economic scorecard for various cities across Ontario. She also spearheaded the research that was done on the Ottawa Building Code Reserve Fund last summer. Katie enjoys working on projects with the other policy analysts and hopes to see OEDS grow to have branches in every major city in Ontario. She believes that the OEDS provides a great opportunity for students to learn more about economic issues on the local, provincial, and federal level. In addition to OEDS, Katie has been a research assistant for Professor Martin Geiger, a Banting fellow and a Political Science professor at Carleton University. She’s also worked at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police headquarters in Ottawa as a Compensation Clerk. Katie enjoys learning about world issues and current affairs, which is why she is heavily involved in the Carleton International Relations Society and has served as the society’s Vice President of Communications as well as President. Katie enjoys giving back to the community in any way she can by working closely with the local Kiwanis club in Ottawa and by running the Eastern Canada district of Circle K International, a student-led service leadership organization.
